• Roofing: 8–10 mm polycarbonate blocks UV light and sheds snow well; make sure both sides of the panels are UV-coated. With SMP or PVDF paint, steel 26 to 29 gauge doesn't chalk as easily. Attach with self-sealing screws and butyl tape around the edges.
• Footprints that are common are 10x10, 10x12, and 12x14 feet. Do not go inside 36 inches of furniture or heaters.
• Allow 12 inches of service access on the pump side for hot tubs and check that the deck has a 50 to 75 psf live load.
• For anchoring, pour piers 300 mm in diameter and 4 rebar cages up to the frost line. Then, set 1/2-inch wedge anchors 100 mm deep or M10 chemical anchors in the concrete that has sealed. Tensile according to the manufacturer's instructions, and check again after the first wind event.
• Electricity: For lights and infrared heaters, add a separate 15 A or 20 A 120 V GFCI circuit. Hardwired heaters with clearances listed in the heater's manual are often needed for commercial patios, such as outdoor lounges at casinos.

1. Square and stake the corners, then dig down to frost depth and pour the footings.
2. Set the post bases, make sure the posts are straight, and slowly tighten the hardware in a cross pattern.
3. Make sure the roof pitch and overhang are even as you put up the beams, rafters, and purlins.
4. On the side that faces away from the wind, put on the roof, seal any holes or cracks, and put up snow guards where ice shedding could affect the walkways.
5. Install fixtures and run electrical wires. Then, add gutters that slope 2 to 3 percent to a drain point.

Clear the snow before it builds up to a depth of 20 to 25 cm, wash the frames twice a year with pH-neutral soap, and fix any chips right away. Each spring, re-tension the bolts and re-seal the wood. Think about getting side curtains with wind-rated tracks for event spaces, like a home lounge with a casino theme. When using fuel-fired heaters, also add CO alarms.
